Dr Walshaw Graduated from Manchester University in 1984. Obtained higher degrees in medicine and in computation/image processing. Successfully completed five years training in radiology with a special interest in magnetic resonance imaging. This was undertaken in Aberdeen, one of the first and principal centres in the UK to offer magnetic resonance imaging training, and Cardiff. Appointed as consultant radiologist at the Victoria Hospital Blackpool NHS Trust (VHB) in November 1996 principally to provide computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging services to the people of the Fylde. Member of MRRA UK (Magnetic Resonance Radiologists Association UK). Lead radiologist for the introduction of PACS (film less soft copy department) at VHB.
